 ss consists of 5 separate evenings - bookable individually Artist and etch
 er-extraordinaire Robert Powell will teach a series of in-depth classes to
  aid you in developing your skills in each 3-hour class. Through examples\
 , demonstration\, and hands on learning you can work on trouble shooting i
 ssues you have been coming up against and learning new etching processes. 
 Feel free to bring plates/prints you have been working on\, there will be 
 opportunities to discuss\, and trouble shoot your work in progress. Choose
  the class you want and book on that date. You can add one or multiple cla
 sses to your basket. Classes are £55 (£50 concession) each. This class i
 s for people with recent Etching experience. Please do not book if you are
  not familiar with basics of Etching at Edinburgh Printmakers. Topics: Mon
 day 1st June | Inking/A la poupée/Relief rolls This class will look in de
 pth at inking-up techniques for etching. Beginning with simple scrim and t
 issue wiping and going through hand wiping\, use of hot plate\, A la poup
 ée inking and wiping and finishing with relief roll. Monday 29th June | A
 dvanced Aquatint & Trouble Shooting We will go through the process of maki
 ng a copper aquatint strip. Going through plate prep\, application of aqua
 tint\, percentage coverage\, use of stop outs\, use for the ferric tank fo
 r etching\, removal of stop outs and accumulative aquatinting. Feel free t
 o bring plates you are working on for discussion and troubleshooting. Mond
 ay 17th September | Spit bite with Ferric Chloride & Soluble Grounds We wi
 ll make small copper spit bite test plates together. Going through applica
 tion of aquatint\, set up of safe mordant working area\, use of concentrat
 ed ferric chloride\, timings and cumulative etching. Monday 5th October | 
 Crayon lift & Coffee Lift Use of crayon lift to experiment with positive d
